Rewriting Service
What's the difference between proofreading, copyediting and rewriting? Click here for details and here for an example.
Why Rewrite?
In some cases, the client is happy with the content of their copy, but feel the text needs completely rewriting. This may be for reasons of quality (material that has been translated from another language, for example) or it may be in order to avoid its being tagged as duplicate content by search engines.
Rewriting for Quality
If you have a university assignment, sales copy or web content that is unsatisfactory, but requires more than copyediting, our rewriting service could be what you need. This service would consist of our taking the information contained in the existing writing and completely overhauling it into a new piece of work. The language, structure and tone could all be altered, improved or simply made more appropriate for your purpose; the word count increased or reduced; and any elements of 'broken English' completely extracted.
Rewriting to Eradicate Duplicate Content
When an entirely new version of the copy is required, we tend to use this online duplicate content checker and achieve scores of less than 8, but we are more than happy to use the version of the client's choice. As evidence of our confidence that we will never fail to achieve this pre-agreed standard, we promise that - should you have to return work to us that has failed to meet this standard - we will redo the work and provide it free of charge.
In the line with the standard Decorus Lacuna terms of business, we will carry out any reasonable* amendments to completed assignments for no extra charge. (*'Reasonable' amendments are those that would ensure your work better suited the brief you initially provided us with.)
Note for Students
Please note that, unlike professional copyediting and proofreading services, which are entirely permitted for use by students, using a professional rewriting service would infringe the standard university rules on plagiarism. Professionally rewritten work, despite containing very similar or identical factual content to the original, constitutes a new piece of writing and therefore cannot be submitted to a university by the client as his/her own work.
