Why Proofread?

A well-written piece of writing can still fail to impress a reader when it contains errors in spelling, punctuation or grammar; and when it comes to business, sales or academic writing, this failure can be fatal. (See one of our free articles, Why Proofreading Matters, for more on our ethos.)

For this reason, we put a great deal of emphasis on the value of proofreading and, as part of our copywriting service, ensure that all our copy is fully proofread before it is returned to the client.

Our proofreading team is based in Sheffield and we are native English speakers, but we work with clients around the world and are able to use US English spelling.

Our Proofreading Service

All our proofreaders have an A'Level, a BA and a MA in English, ensuring that our proofreading service is of the highest quality.

Our comprehensive proofreading service costs only £0.01 per word. This includes, as standard, correction to errors in the following:

Grammar (tense, verb conjugation, etc.)
Spelling (UK/US consistency, typographical errors, etc.)
Punctuation (commas, capitalisation, etc.)
Syntax (word order)

At your request, we can also make corrections to style and tone - for example, ensuring a formal tone for academic work.

We currently have ongoing proofreading contracts with publishers, marketing and advertising agencies and web designers, proofreading their manuscripts, promotional material, web content and contracts/tender documents.

Many of our proofreading clients are further education students; and we have proofread essays and theses on a variety of subjects, including Law, Medicine, Physics, English Literature and Language, Sociology and Economics.

Your Document

Upon completion, our proofreading work is returned to the client in two digital forms: one with the suggested alterations marked in red and the other with the changes made and the document ready for printing.

Many of our proofreading clients are overseas further education students, and the provision of a document highlighting our changes has proven particularly beneficial for these clients.
